Master Wu led the ninja through the dense jungle, across mountaintops, and through rocky passageways. After many hours, the group stopped at the edge of a dense forest. Everyone took a few moments to catch their breath as they scanned the vista before them — dark, towering trees cloaked in mist.
“Students,” Master Wu told them, “your training begins now. We are about to enter the Forest of Whispers. Here, you will learn your first ninja skill: silence.”
All six ninja leaped into the air, whooping and cheering. “Silence — yeah! All right!”
Master Wu shook his head, disappointed. “Unbelievable,” he whispered.
The ninja quieted down at once, eager to hear Master Wu’s words of wisdom. “Now, you must be as quiet as possible — because this forest is also a minefield. And the slightest disturbance could trigger our doom. This is why I did not bring the Fuchsia Ninja.”
As soon as Master Wu spoke the words Fuchsia Ninja, a crazy ninja in a bright-pink uniform came running toward the group, waving his arms in the air.
Lloyd, Cole, Jay, Kai, Nya, and Zane exchanged confused looks.
“Hey, guys!” the new ninja hollered out. “Don’t forget me! Let’s do this! Fuchsia Ninja for the —”
KA-BOOM!
A land mine exploded on the forest floor, blasting the Fuchsia Ninja out of the forest and straight back to Ninjago City.
As he flew through the air, the Fuchsia Ninja hollered, “— winnnnnnnnn!”
The other ninja all turned back to Master Wu, terrified and silent.
“Okay,” Lloyd said quietly but firmly to his teammates, “we really need to listen to Master Wu, guys.”
“Totally agree,” Nya said, nodding. “One hundred percent.”
Jay bobbed his head up and down. “Whatever you think the best way to notget land-mined is, I’m fully on board.”
Zane agreed. “Going into ‘silent mode’ now.”
“Good,” Master Wu said seriously. “Because embracing your ninjanuity is the only way you will survive this journey.” He took a deep breath. “But just in case you don’t, I need you to sign these contracts absolving me of any and all legal liability.”
Master Wu clicked a button on his flute, turning it into a pen. He handed the pen and a stack of contracts to his students, waiting as they signed the documents.
As soon as they’d finished, the ninja followed him into the forest.
“Hut-hut-hut-hut-hut,” they chanted as they marched. “Hut-hut-hut-hut-hut!”
“Shhh!” Master Wu scolded. “Ninja! Silence, remember?”
The ninja mumbled a few complaints before quietly resuming their chant in a whisper. “Hut-hut-hut-hut-hut-hut.”
“Ugh,” Master Wu groaned. “You are all totally gonna get land-mined.”
